Speech & Language Pathology

Description

Speech Therapy is a specialized therapy that addresses communication disorders in the areas of receptive language, expressive language, speech fluency, speech production, oral motor ability, voice production and pragmatics. At Partners, our Speech Language Pathologists are licensed by the state of Minnesota and have the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Our Speech Therapy Program is available exclusively to our clients at Partners.  Children receiving Speech therapy services at Partners have the added benefit of frequent, accessible communication between behavior therapists, speech language pathologists and parents about the child’s abilities and progress.  This enhances carryover of new skills acquired in speech sessions to their learning setting at Partners as well as at home.

Speech Therapy treatment sessions are 30 minutes in length one or two times a week as prescribed by a physician. Treatment sessions are provided on an individual basis, with one clinician treating one client in a specially designed environment with interventions designed to remediate deficit areas identified during the evaluation.
