Topic: Advanced Biomedical Treatments for ADHD, Autism, and Sensory Integration

Presented by Stephanie Belseth, Newbridge Clinic

Stephanie Belseth MAN, RN, CPNP of Newbridge Clinic in Linden Hills, Minneapolis will talk about special diets for autism beyond gluten free, casein, soy free and low sugar, including identifying and avoiding other foods your child might be sensitive to, as well as GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) and SCP (Specific Carbohydrate Diet) and Failsafe/Feingold diets. She will discuss more in depth about GI issues that are problematic for many children on the spectrum, how to help with gut healing for your child, specific testing, supplements, treatments (e.g. HBOT), and/or medications that might be helpful for children with autism, as well as related supportive research. This presentation will be invaluable to everyone in attendance, and should be of particular interest to parents of children with autism! Come learn about things you can do to help your child be as healthy as possible and advance as quickly as possible in their therapies/learning.

Partners Resource Night is a free training opportunity for parents, caregivers, professionals, and others. This event is designed to provide participants with the tools necessary to manage situations they encounter with children. This is an interactive and informative opportunity to learn more about Autism Spectrum Disorder and its impact on children and their families.

Prior to the presentation, we host a social hour from 5:30pm- 6:30pm. Parents, family members, professionals, and Partners staff are encouraged to mingle and meet others who have a connection to autism. One of the great benefits to attending Partners Resource Night is sharing experiences among families and caregivers.

This month during our social hour we will be having an informal small group discussion on tablet apps for children with autism. Bring your tablet with and share with others the apps your child enjoys and learn about some new apps to try out!

Patners Resource Night is an exciting, supportive, relative, and educational experience for all who attend. These evenings will be informal and enjoyable and we encourage everyone to participate. Childcare is not provided for these events. If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to email us at resourcenight@partnersmn.com.
