St. Patrick’s Day 2011

The Burnsville Bridges clients made a spectacular trap to catch the mischievous Leprechaun that has been playing pranks on them all month.  They colored rainbows, cut out shamrocks, and glued on pots-o-golds…everything to lure the Leprechaun into the trap.  But low and behold, while they were all running and playing in the gym, the Leprechaun visited the classroom.  He turned all the days of the week words upside down, put all of the months of the year words sideways, wrote “hehe” and “haha” all over the whiteboards, mixed up all the take-home folders, picked up and moved the trap AND took all of the rainbows, shamrocks and pots-o-gold.   The kids were left stunned and didn’t know what to do until they found a note from Mr. Leprechaun on their lockers.  The notes said the following…

I came to see you

But now I must go

I left you a gift

To say hello

It’s full of treats

And a special charm

To bring you good luck

And keep you from harm

Look all around

and see if you can find

My special gift

To someone so kind

Mr. Leprechaun

He had left them each a bag of green Skittles, M&Ms, Jelly Beans and Mike-n-Ikes, with 2 shamrocks and a lucky charm green coin.  He has now left to go back to Ireland, but the kids are already planning how they are going to catch him next March…….
